About
Some time ago, I was at a dance which featured a lovely Celtic band called Fiddler’s Fancy. A waltz was called, and the band played a most mesmerizing rendition of the Turlough O’Carolan classic piece, Sheebeg and Sheemore. The dance was as hypnotic and dreamlike as could ever be…(which explains why I have 3 versions on the stream) I sought to capture much of that beauty in the selection of music for Celticmelt, with a few surprises in-between. Close your eyes while you listen and imagine dancing the waltz of your life with the rolling emerald hills Ireland laying in wait for you.

It’s almost a month since you started your blog and no one has done any posting so maybe I can get the ball rolling. I have been a loyal listener for about a year now. I use Real Player to access you because I like the visualizations going in the background when I am not doing anything on the computer. I am retired and have you on all my waking hours.
My heritage on my paternal side is Gaelic, Scottish and Northern Irish. I love Celtic music. I have about 180 cds in my collection. Over half Celtic. Much of the rest is music for meditation, Native American (flute) and sounds of nature. Additionally some Native South American and Tana Tuva throat singing.
Many of the artists you feature have nice web pages, some with lyrics. Connie Dover has a real nice site with lyric of all four of her albums. Check out Candice Knight’s site. She is a very beautiful woman. Steeleye Span’s site has the lyrics to almost all their albums. I have so many artists book marked that I have broken them down alphabetically in to four sections. Each is about one screen long.
For those of you that enjoy Nakia, Check out Coyote Oldman.
One of my favorite songs is Wild Mountain Thyme. It must be one of the most recorded celtic songs; I find 162 versions at RealPlayer Music Store.
For people who enjoy Kila and Afro-Celt Sound System check out Spanish bagpiper Hevia.
I would like to hear Tommy Sands, particularly There Were Rose. Also Kate Rusby. She has a lilt it her voice much like Dolly Parton.
I would also like to hear you play The Waterboys A Song for the Life.
Some of my favorites are, Steeleye Span, Connie Dove, Candice Knight, Sinéad O’Connor (also has lyrics on here site).
For anyone interested here is the URL of sweet Irish page. http://www.geocities.com/athens/acropolis/5023/index.html
I am very heavily into Celtic Mythology. One of my favorite is about the Fairy Banner of Clan MacLeod. Here is the URL of my favorite version. http://www.clanmacleod.org/about-macleods/the-fairy-flag.php
Anyone interested in discussing Celtic Mythology feel free to contact me.
Enough for now. Let’s hear for some of you.

Thanx for the great info & links, Pete! I’d love to discuss CeltMyth w/u but ic no contact info… whereas my MySpace links to my other sites…
I have 2 wishes:
• to see the woman’s face who provides the CelticMelt ’sublime intro VO’!
• to co-create a true Celtic-music nightclub in Los Angeles.
Anyone wanna assist? I’m easy to find.

Ah…yes. the Infamous Voiceover babe. She is an x-GF from a few years back, and at one time a professional voice person. Played a mean recorder as well.

Love Celtic Melt, it’s my fave. I’m back listening again, after a week absence. A week without beautiful music is a sad one indeed. Thanks for this wonderful station!
